One of the finest addresses in Vienna, this hotel has hosted imperial, royal, and simply famous guests, with the fabulous Lobmeyr chandeliers contributing to its unmistakable elegance and atmosphere. Since 1937, the fixtures have crowned not only the lobby and the restaurant, but also select suites—a rare privilege for guests. Most of the chandeliers are in a classic baroque style, affectionately named after Austrian ruler Maria Theresa. The chandeliers in the foyer of the Imperial Hotel, among the largest the company has ever made, were crafted using the traditional technique of plating the raw iron body in gold leaf and adorning it with exquisite hand-cut crystal droplets.
