DESIGNERS
BCXSY is a design duo consisting of Boaz Cohen (*1978 in Israel) and Sayaka Yamamoto (*1984 in Japan).
BCXSY’s 2014 design for the J(oy) & L(ove) wine glasses emerged from the desire to rediscover and tangibly embody the joy of everyday rituals.
Inspired by Biedermeier friendship glasses, a Lobmeyr classic, as well as the diverse craft techniques cultivated by the company, they developed a two-piece set of tumblers intended for use by a couple during their most memorable moments.
For the 200th anniversary of Lobmeyr the couple developed Archive lights, which are celebrating the detail and value of elements used in Lobmeyr lighting.
In 2007 the two founded their studio in Eindhoven, where they studied at the renowned design academy. Today, the multi-award-winning duo remains active in concept, product, and environmental design, both in the Netherlands and worldwide. Characterised by a strong focus on personal experience, human interaction, emotional perception, and social responsibility, their work effortlessly and artfully combines the “boutique” and the commercial, the specific and the universal. BCXSY’s work is a consistently contemporary expression, with modern-day technology often standing alongside traditional materials and craftsmanship.
