Kim+Heep is a Vienna - based studio founded by product designer Mia Kim (*1972 in Busan, Korea) and architect Nikolas Heep (*1976 in Munich).
Since 2005, they have been creating product and interior designs as well as conceptual installations, performing research, publishing, and teaching.
Kim+Heep are inspired by the potential they discover in their respective disciplines of design and architecture. They describe their way of working as a “ping pong”, a practice characterised by the exchange of ideas, experimental thinking, daydreams, sketches, and prototypes.
The results are tailor-made environments such as the interior design of the Pho House and the Plasser & Theuerer offices, both located in Vienna. Their products are emotionally relevant: celebrating everyday life, often conveying a playful existential lightness, and recognizing the diversity of people and companies.
