    Capturing the Essence of Light

Light refracted by crystal. Capturing the natural play of those two elements into a fascinating object has been the vision of this collaboration.
A minimal elegant metal structure typical for Michael Anastassiades’ work gives hold and position to precious crystal parts capturing the precious light of a single bulb.

Light, shadow and the play with geometry and space make the onlooker want to touch the fine half-spheres and reach for the glowing orb at the centre. The contrast of the thin shades and the cut crystal ball at the centre subtly yet graciously express the Lobmeyr aesthetics in this piece.

The frame is made of brass and comes in satin silver, gold or antique brass finish. The central crystal ball guards and refracts the light with the special iris cut, executed in our traditional hand-cutting techniques. Two crystal hemispheres of larger diameters that clip onto the vertical pole can swivel freely and indicate orbits of other worlds.
